The first X-Man, Scott Summers possesses the mutant ability to fire powerful concussive blasts through his eyes that act as a portal to another dimension full of the force that makes up his optic blast. He is visually distinctive for the ruby quartz visor he wears to control his devastating power. A born leader, Cyclops succeeded his mentor Professor X to command the X-Men.
@Son Of Storm: Doubtful. It's in a mental box and I don't recall it being mentioned ever since Fraction's run. So it's not like it has done anything to him anyway.

Marvel's secret plan. It was the Void that made them go bananas. Not the PF. It split into each of them when they got infected. End story!
I think the Void is used as a plot device to further the downfall of Cyclops. The void is an entity that forces its victim to act upon the darkest impulses in their mind. On the other hand, Cyke had a strong Psychic defense. Perhaps what happened to Scott is that the Phoenix and the Void are trying to take control over himself, and to win the Phoenix had no choice but to call Jean herself. Jean was a double-edged sword to the phoenix as she not only helped Phoenix overcome the void but secretly helped Scott in taking control over the bird's own power. The first part became a success, but because of Void's influence, Scott's psyche was somewhat shattered. The revolutionary Scott we saw at the end was one who was fractured by the society, the world, the Phoenix, the Void, and most of all, by his own guilt upon killing his mentor.
