Is there time as a couple done? Scott has seemed to be pulling further and further away from emma and shutting her out. Namor if wolverine had done anything that namor has done with emma scott would have killed him and yet he dose nothing about namor sniffing around emma. I know he's older and there relationship is more solid then his and jean's but still. Now with him taken the phoenix power from emma by force and seeming to ignore or brush off her attempt's to speak with him about her losing control is this the end.

I hope so , Scott can get back to being Scott. I will always see Emma as a manipulator and villian.

most likely once you blast your girlfriend with powerful optic beams I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to be with you at all.

@Crimsonlord53: I doubt it given the recent covers for ANXM and if nothing else it was rather necessary given how both Scott and Emma were losing control of themselves due to the Phoenix Force. Emma even admitted that she was losing control and the various statements that she made in regards to the world((i.e. burning it and recreating it, mind-wiping the Avengers.)), something had to be done. I feel that Scott stealing her portion of the Phoenix Force was was fueled by both general concern and lust for power.

I do agree that it's messed up,however, I believe that they'll bounce back from this.

Not necessarily. Emma is a character who certainly in her own way, style and personality has been just as stalwart in her protection and defense of the remaining mutants. On a metaphorical level all the mutants that are left; the X-Men and Utopia's other inhabitants who were less active as super heroes, were all her students now in a way that she had the Generation X kids back in the day and all the kids on Genosha that were wiped out. For all that she put on certain airs, she was absolutely stalwart herself in the goal of protecting, defending, and maintaining her species.
So while this is a harsh moment and there will certainly have to be after effects, I could see a world in which Emma looked at this moment and would say to Scott, "You did what you had to do. I would have done the same thing." So I don't think their relationship is necessarily done. Or it could go horribly awry and now we have two characters that are eternally opposed to one another moving into a new chapter of the Marvel Universe. We just won't know for a few more weeks.

I'll admit THE PASSION OF SCOTT SUMMERS is a title that makes me smile.
But no, I wouldn't think you're reading too much. The Emma/Scott scene has a lot both said and unsaid.

I think the only thing that would end them is the permanent (as much as anything can be in comics) return of a GROWN Jean Grey. He betrayed her and she has betrayed him so they don't have illusions about each other.

I think they will be but the event was so poorly written that I hardly see justification for it:

• Emma's dalliance with Namor while they were both under Phoenix power was no worse than Scott's relationship with Frenzy during Age of X.
• Scott's betrayal of Emma (which doesn't make sense to begin with as the telepath should be stronger with the Phoenix power) while under Phoenix power can't be any worse than Emma slaughtering people while drunk on power.

The event was terrible top to bottom.

Hmm.. I haven't been keeping up with this whole Phoenix story line, only been reading snippets here on the vine. But the more i know about it, the happier i am i chose not to read it.

@Sufferthorn: Mercy and I talk all the time in a PM with friends and we talked a lot about AvX with her saying for us not to spoil cause she wants(ed) to read AvX herself despite the constant bad press about it and knowing full well what the issues we (as our my friends and I) brought up. Since she said she doesn't care at this point I teased her about it because for the entire event she didn't want spoilers wanting to read it herself.

@soa: Though non-canon, Emma to me, is seen with redeeming qualities in the game X-Men Legends, the X-Men anime and the final episode of Wolverine & the X-Men.

Nyet. I know they had the recent spat in the latest issue of UXM, but both have still shown they care about each other beforehand and even flirted with one another at some points in the series. I still feel like they are not officially done and will eventually get back together. It may take some time, but it is still a definite possibility.

I think Emma and Scott's relationship are only based on dirty lust

I'm still hoping it comes back around. I like Bendis, but splitting those two up has annoyed me.

I hope they get back together soon. I can let Bendis, just for a little way, play with the dialogues about those 2 caring for each other and teasing/flirting with each other... but only if at the end it's a way to reunite them and make their relationship stronger than ever!!

They're my favorite couple in Marvel, both are on my top3 of favorite characters (with Nightcrawler) and they made each other evolve a lot, so they better get together now!! :D

@lokheit: It won't be soon, but I wouldn't doubt they will eventually. At least for now, Emma is at least being confident again and is showing she doesn't need him to stand on her own two feet like she should. Like I mentioned about how she didn't want to talk to him because he was being smug, she did end up being the one to pull him away from the sentinel exploding an issue later. In BotA, it was her and Jean being the ones to look shocked when younger Scott died. Emma was the one to coach Triage through everything. In the preview for the new issue, Emma was projecting a little bit on Scott when he was acting a bit cocky again, and when the students brought up some valid points, she backed the kids up. Emma knows she can throw an insult at Scott and it won't bother him. It's nothing new. But it is at least being shown that when it comes down to it, both are still the ones saving each other or keeping the other in check.
