cerial442's Crow: Death & Rebirth #2 - Chapter Two: My Sword Speaks For Me review

Nostalgia from the 90s can't be the only thing for this book

This series is a little hit and miss. I think this might be a miniseries, or at least with this character (that's fine).

The story is typical Crow stuff. An American student living in Japan is killed while trying to save his girlfriend, he comes back from the dead for vengeance.

Of course, his girlfriend was killed when an evil bio-tech company replaces the minds of young college students, with those of its ailing board members.

I'm fine with the story. It's what you would expect when you read The Crow. The artwork is fine, and the cover looks good.

My problem is the dialog. It is so rough and unnatural. The story and action scenes seem really jumpy as well. If feels like you might have skipped 3 or 4 panels of action, when you haven't.

It's okay, and I'm going to finish out this story arc. If they do another I'll check it as well, but if it is like this one, I'm out. It's a shame too, because I dig the Crow concept, and I think it could lead to better stories than this.
