Why is there always so many Joker, Harley and Deadpool cosplays?

Because those characters are basically internet memes (and with the new Suicide Squad movie revamps, the Joker and Harley costumes take less costuming effort than ever before). Every once in a while you'll see some internet hullabaloo about girls cosplaying at cons without even knowing the characters and being "fake geek girls", but honestly nothing screams "guy who just knows the character from imgur" more to me than seeing someone dressed as Deadpool and shouting totally random internet references.

or maybe the cosplayers just really like the characters.

It's Monday. It's a new week. We should try to have a positive outlook on things instead of just looking for other stuff.

Some comic fans hate fake geek girls since they are usually the ones on tumblr crying about sexism in comics they never read. Meanwhile the fake geek dudes are annoying but rather harmless.

Those Deadpools must be waiting to see the Deadpool movie that bad.

They were my faves too, the rest were nice efforts but more "meh" to me.

That rocketman cosplay is simple and amazing. Also Spiderman, Silk, and Gwen are really good. Especially silk, she's gorgeous.

A lot of really good work done here. I'm not a fan of the mashup cosplay outfits for the most part. It's funny to see a Stormtrooper done up differently once in a while, but the random mashups usually just look thrown together or done as a gag.

That Spider trio is utterly fantastic, but I must say the Jim Gordon with a cup of coffee is a really nice, albeit less flashy touch. Tons of great cosplay here, I know you were kinda going to this one as a fan Tony so thanks for snapping all of the pics.

Also on the annoying Deadpool cosplayers, there's more to complaints about them than sour grapes. As someone who has to run a booth for the Rebel Legion (Star Wars costuming group, sister organization to the 501st) at conventions, I know what it's like to have Deadpool cosplayers tornado through a con. It's not just the quality of costumes; they often act rude or disruptive thinking that it's funny. We've had numerous Deadpool cosplayers mess with our people in Stormtrooper and Darth Vader armor, and those costumes are not cheap. I do, however, make an effort to compliment DP cosplayers who do a good job and are polite. It's fine to have fun and maybe even get a little silly at a con, but harming the experience of others is not.
