    Mini Review

My opinion in a few sentences.

    The Cover
What do I think of the cover's art, layout and context?

    Art and colors are okay.
The layout reminds me of a Villain's Month issue.
The context to the issue is more symbolic.
    3/5 Stars

    The Plot (SPOILERS)
What is this issue about? What are the main events?

Constantine fights against Mister E and manages to imprison his soul in a Moonblade, unbeknowst by his comrades Sargon and Tannarak, who absorb E's power.
Constantine joins the Cold Flame and plans to destroy them from within.

    The Art
Does it appeal to me or not?

The art does not appeal to me. It was difficult to follow the fight as the layout was a bit confusing and I did not always know who's who.

    Verdict
A few general words on this issue.

As mentioned above the fight was a bit confusing, but overall the outcome opens interesting ways for proceeding the story. Anyway, the end of this issue directly crosses over to Trinity War and Forever Evil. So it is unclear if the premise of this issue will be addressed in the following.

    Quote of the issue
A funny oneliner? A meaningful phrase? A memorable remark?
This quote stood out in this issue:

"We'll play it nice and slow and careful. And then you and me, we're going to kill Tanarak and Sargon both and put an end to this bloody farce."

    Rating: 3/5 stars
    5 = I highly recommend this issue! A Must-Read!
4 = I recommend this issue! Overall this was a very entertaining read.
3 = An average, but still good issue.
2 = I can see potential, but overall I did not like this issue.
1 = I consider this issue bad and can not find any appeal in it.

John Constantine is not only one of my favorite DC characters but also my favorite anti-hero until this moment of fiction (sorry Punisher) and it's been quite a while since I finished his long trajectory in Vertigo and I say that I particularly don't mind this "cooler" update of the New 52, the tragic strategist and trickster magician that always has an ace trick up one's sleeve and makes even the most powerful of enemies a clown, has always been one of his main characteristics but Constantine...

This comic is awesome, a good story that ties into the Trinity War in a sensible way, great action with great art that elevates the action to new heights with the magic fight feeling actually mystical, as well as Constantine being charmingly sardonic and wittily humorous throughout....
