Conan Trailer
I am shocked due to the fact Conan does not have a silly accent... but the snakes actually look worse in this one.
That's the actor who plays Drogo in Game of Thrones, right? Give him the lead in a He-Man movie and that'll make him the official go-to guy for big, brawny, bare-chested barbarian-type dudes.
By the way, what's become of the Red Sonja movie that was in preparation a few years ago? Has it vanished into limbo?
Looks pretty dire. The fighting reminds me of bad 90s action TV - lots of prancing and spinning, little by way of real violence. If you told me this was made by the same people who made those The Mummy movies, I'd believe you.
The fact that it is throwing canon out the window blows too. Why pay for to license the character and world if you aren't going to use it? I think I can safely ignore this one now.
Also wish his hair looked less 'glamorous', and more like the character's traditional sorta goofy black hair from the Frazetta covers.
"Yup yup.That's the actor who plays Drogo in Game of Thrones, right?
(did anyone else think Rose somewhat resembled Evil Lyn?)
if it's Pg-13 I won't be going now if it's rated R and full of violence then I will. the reason being is PG-13 movies are the ones Douche bag teenagers go to and talk through the whole thing or play with their stupid little phones basically ruin the whole film for everybody else
Conan is WAAAAY too dancy. I hate that since 300 and Troy every badass fighter now has to leap around like a Kangaroo regardless of how large a sword they are wielding. I want my Conan like Arnold, Big, Brutal, and Deliberate. Not every swordsman needs to be a fruity martial artist.
"I completely agreeim cautiously optimistic...
if this is R-rated in 3D and successful this could revive Del Toro's Mountains of Madness movie

This (even though I'll have to take Hood's word on those movies), and

@RedheadedAtrocitus:
I'm with you on this one.
I don't know why, perhaps there's too much pre-judgment about this already.
Yes, it'd be great to have an incredibly huge and buff dude as Conan but where will you find a suitable actor of the same physical build as Arnold was during the original movies? I know there are indeed muscle bound actors but this guy doesn't look slim by any means.
Rose McGowan is in it, so honestly, I will probably see it.
Looks like pretty standard action, fantasy fair. But I expect nothing more from a Conan flick. The originals are cult classics but objectively were silly, mindless films, so they don't have much "legacy" to live up to artistically. As long as this guy kills lots and lots of people with a sword it should be enjoyable to myself and fellow fans.

The rest of the movie looks pretty cool though. If they wanted a smaller guy Manu Bennett would have been better from Spartacus, he has the barbarian look and he can pull off the hair.
I wonder if the classic "Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you! !" line will be alluded here.
" @Gambler: not so much, i've never seen anyone that looks like she does in this film "Maybe its just me. Everytime I see Rose's character it makes think of Evil Lyn
"

Sooo you true conan fans of the 1st films understand Robert E. Howard wrote conan lean as a panther not arnold?Masive yes he was suposed to be over 6'2".
Even here http://www.conan.com/invboard/index.php?showtopic=7816&st=0 they came around mostly he looks the part.Which is a neet read as how things changed as they seen more of a change in looks.Maybe look how barry winsdor smith drew him realy close to the books,Which i own.
"Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing." — Robert E. Howard, The Tower of the Elephant (1933)
Trailers not the greatest but other stuff i seen makes me have some hope it be pretty good.
@pikahyper:
Hey i liked the cheese that was arnolds movies.But some are saying that the new one looks like a b movie an realy just dont get that.When they was posting pics with dreadlocks i had doubts.But now after seeing some pics an action not in that trailer im ok with it.An yeah Manu Bennett woulda been a good pick i agree with ya their.Any idea if he did try out for it?
Some were saying get the guy from conan the adventurer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralf_M%C3%B6ller but their not understanding time keeps on ticking out side of film .Hes in his 50s now.Which reminds me i realy do need to try an watch conan the adventurer on huluu some time.
Hopeing for 80% or more of the books.Doubting will see more than 50% . But the whole looks generic fantasy thing.. Where does every one thing that came from?Conan,Lord of the rings, an one shouldnt forget Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser.Any thing genric fantasy sword an sorcery came from them imho.
Looks like it will be a reasonably good movie. The guy looks the part, although he is stil a tad bit too small for Conan and he spits a lot when he talks.
Anyone know the song that plays in the trailer? I think I've heard it before.
The points about how Arnold was better are pretty bad. I'm a big Conan fan and this guy is more of a good fit size-wise and speech wise. Remember a lot of Arnold's dialogue was cut because he wasn't fluent in English yet. Also Conan was always supposed to be a fast brute fighter with a low voice that would build to explosions of laughter and rage.
This guy is more in line with the vision of Conan, hopefully he can act and the script is good.
"Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandaled feet" -- The Nemedian Chronicles
