During the Battle of Britain squadrons of Hurricanes did a fantastic job against the might of the Luftwaffe. But one particular squadron was having a rough time. In fact, every time they flew against the German Messerschmitts they took a hammering.
It needed a new, strong C.O. to change things. Someone with authority in his voice and the hard experience of battle to back it up. Someone tough enough to lick the squadron into shape whether they liked it or not.
Squadron Leader Walter Wiley was the man they got. He was all of these things - and a lot more.
