    Origin

    Mr. Hogue and his "followers" were originally radical animal rights activists, now dubbed collectively as the Splinterfolk.

    After the initial fight with Animal Man, Mr. Hogue ambushes Baker again, with an axe. Whilst Animal Man is unconscious, Mr. Hogue and his followers drain a vial of blood from Baker, which was transported to Mr. Hogue's master and benefactor, Brother Blood.

    Creation

    Clinton Hogue was created by writer Jeff Lemire, and first drawn by Steve Pugh (in comic) and Jae Lee (concept designs). He was designed as a new antagonist to add to Buddy Baker's rogues gallery for the second volume of Animal Man.
