    Better Than The Original

CLERKS 2 So would this compare to The original Clerks, or other Kevin Smith films. Some might not agree with me, because the original had the rough around the edges low low low budget look and feel to it, but I enjoyed this better than the original. All the usual Smith elements are here, including a Star Wars reference, but something happened between filmovies that took place in Askewniverse. Another famous Trilogy had popped up. So instead of just Star Wars talk we get an Original trilogy vs. LOTR verbal fight. Once again, all the Smith elements are here. very long monologues on everything from Transformers to the relevance of "Porch Monkey" as a racial slur. One thing it has the original didn't is a plot. The guys have left the Quick Stop(for reasons I wont reveal here, and are flipping burgers at the local Moobys. Randall is still his disgusting and hipper than thou self, and Dante seems to finally have a handle on life. He is going to move to Florida with his new fiance. Of course Randall wants to give him a proper send off and that leads to the films most over the top scene. It's fun and disgusting in all the right places. A little schmaltzy toward the ending, but nothing deal breaking. I enjoyed it and wouldn't mind yet another visit to the Askewniverse sometime Translation : No more PG-13 Jersey Girls.
