Lightning has struck the grand library, fusing history’s greatest books together! Familiar characters find themselves in unfamiliar situations, now. In this first match-up, it’s Cervantes’ Don Quixote colliding with H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds, and all bets are off.
Aliens rule Spain. Driven into hiding, its people flee “demons” they can’t even begin to understand – until, Don Quixote and his steadfast squire, Sancho Panza, ride in to save the day! Quixote’s ready to battle these invaders, just as he has with countless giants before. Only those “giants” were windmills, and the knight seems unclear about what manner of creature he’s actually facing now, as well.
It appears this madman may gallivant to his doom. But then, beyond all reason, Quixote proves quite good at killing Martians! The people now have a hero to lead them out of darkness… even if his grasp of reality isn’t always solid. But can they humor him long enough to deliver Spain, or do Quixote’s insane ideas threaten to take the war effort in directions no sane being would ever consider?
