bjmorga's Cinderella: Fables are Forever #5 - Part Five review

Everything the main title is not!

This title has everything lacking from the main Fables title: action, adventure, intrigue, and a snappy dialogue. Literally everything about this title works, even the flashbacks. In fact, I love the use of the flashbacks so much I have dubbed this the Vertigo version of Lost.  The characterization of Dorothy is so rich and deliciously evil. When has Fables introduced anyone even remotely as interesting? It has to go back to before the war at least.

This title is practuially begging to be made into an ongoing series, though I do like the idea of keeping it at just an occasional or yearly miniseries. That format has worked thus far the series. The temptation to put it monthly is great, but it is a fine treat to see this in my monthly comic shipment. Regardless, there is great potential for this property. I don't know what the sales on it are like, but I'm sure it's criminally low.

Seriously, anyone looking for a non-superhero comic that kicks ass, this is where you need to go. Lapsed Fables fan? Look no further for your fix!
