    Cinderella is a Great Secret-Agent

I have not read much of Fables. To be honest, the premise never really appealed to me. The cover really grabbed me, and there was nothing else in the store that caught my attention, so I took a chance. I'm glad I did.

Though, I have no real knowledge of the world, or the character, I could follow this story just fine. Through the book, there were flashbacks to cinderella's past exploits which filled in the gaps and brought me up to speed with her current crisis and tying everything in. If i already knew this stuff, i might have been irritated by it, but it was handled well, regardless. The book transitioned seamlessly through them and things moved at a good pace. I also liked the semi noir-style of it. I love that sort of thing with detective and espionage stories. It likely comes from listening to so many old radio dramas. Never thought any of my childhood fairytales and fables could be this sexy and cool.

The art is another high point. It's very good. I like how Cinderella looks, and Dorothy. Everything is nice, and cleanly detailed and a joy to look at.

Overall, I rather liked it. I'm interested in seeing where the story leads and If the other Fables books are like this in terms of quality of writing and art,  it might get me to pick up a trade or past Cinderella, at the very least.

I enjoyed the first Cinderella miniseries by Chris Roberson and had high hopes for this one. It turns out there was nothing to worry about. Roberson and Shawn McManus give us high octane espionage action in the world of Fables. We get to see bits of a flashback adventure of Cinderella's ...
