I know she was a prostitute at some time in her past but how did she get into it? She strikes me as a woman who would never let a man tell her what to do so I'm just curious?
Catwoman
Character » Catwoman appears in 3403 issues.
Catwoman is a fictional character originating from DC Comics. Under the costumed alias of Catwoman, Selina Kyle, is a cat burglar with an on-again, off-again, romantic relationship with Batman. She is shown as a woman who is very strong-willed, independent and morally dubious.
Did Selina Kyle ever have a Pimp?
Haven't read in a long time so I might be wrong on the topic. Going By Batman Year One
@Sexy Merc:
Has he ever come back and tried to black mail or re hire her?
Yea going by frank milliar's version she was a prostitute who fell in love with Batman and became Catwoman but in actual continuity Selina Kyle was a jewel theif or cat burgurlar who called herself Catwoman. The rest of her history is completly up for debate or reinterpretation. Just like who the Joker was before he was the red hood.
Some of her origins have her as a prostitute. She had a pimp named Stan in one of those. Holly was a prostitute as well in this one.
Despite Holly's inclusion in the title, there hasn't been any references to her being a prostitute except for one. Selina was inducted into a pack of child thieves all working under a woman named Mama Fortuna but seeing as how they never reaped the benefits for their efforts, Selina split with this girl named Sylvia. The two tried to make a career of being child prostitutes but only Sylvia was depicted as taking any clients which ultimately separated the two friends for some time. From there Selina appears to have gone into the heist business, it doesn't appear she was actually a prostitute....which is infinitely better than Miller's crap storyline with her.
