Catwoman is a fictional character originating from DC Comics. Under the costumed alias of Catwoman, Selina Kyle, is a cat burglar with an on-again, off-again, romantic relationship with Batman. She is shown as a woman who is very strong-willed, independent and morally dubious.
Does anyone else hate her new look? The short hair and combat boots just really does not do it for me. I know it's not all that new as far as this series goes but in comparing it with her past costumes it's such a let down.
Sure the longer hair look was "sexier" but not really practical, especially for a thief. What about leaving hair strands behind with DNA and all that stuff. Okay, she's sort of reformed now. With the shorter hair, someone can't grab her hair from behind. So I liked the longer look better but see the practicality of the shorter look.
I haven't been keeping up with Catwoman. Does she still remember Batman is Bruce Wayne? I saw that she's in his Outsiders now.

As for the hair, yes, it was too long but now it's at the other extreme of being too short. They've taken an ultra feminine character and made her ultra masculine. There needs to be a happy medium.

I miss the purple cowl, though the old hair was a problem for her so I get why she'd ditch it but now it's too short for such a sexy character. She really doesn't even seem like the same character, really... I like the new outfit, but not for the Catwoman I fell in love with all those years ago. God I suddenly feel very old... sigh
just starting to read the catwoman now - both the 90s and current version. i like her old look and attitude better but the short hair is starting to grow on me. In some of the covers she looks like Audrey Hepburn, in others, like Demi Moore in Ghost. I don't think her current costume does her justice -- those goggles and boots are so ugly. i hope they get rid of it with the reboot.
i'm also not sure i like where they're taking her character. she seems much more angst filled now compared to the 90's version. i hope they lighten her up a bit.

Those were her much, much better days. I also liked her 90s costume, and sure, her new hair won't get in the way but it takes all the femininity out of her. Sure, go ahead stuff the hair in her mask but don't shorten it to such an extent. She's no dike.
@J Rex: One more vote for the old look: either purple dress or her 90's costume with long hair. the short hair and the goggles are really hard for most artists to draw well. Aside from Lee, Hughes, Daniel, March, everyone else's version makes her look like a bug
Yeah, the attitude change is not attractive either. I prefer the happy carefree thief who was really good at what she did rather than this mediocre vigilante who keeps making the most stupid decisions (like having a baby with a one night stand who's the son of an ex-lover, etc.)
i like her new look but i wish they'd just make her goggle lenses yellow-green and KEEP them that way. the green makes sense for cat eyes and its throwback to her old green costumes. as for her hair, imo super short hair is still ultra-feminine, you get the see her nape and shoulders and clavicles which, to me, are really sexy feminine parts (think natalie portman). selinas still a sex kitten no matter what she wears, its her demeanor not her appearance.
but her attitude lately, idk... i dont its just the writers shoving her to the back burner. she's really been through alot and i think she's still mentally and emotionally recovering from it, i'm sure she'll make a comeback from kitten to tigress soon enough. i'm sticking with her through thick and thin (sirens). :3

I love Catwoman, whilst I love her old purple costume and I even enoyed the movie version, I love this newr version. To me, Catwoman is the sort to go practical and still know that she looks hot as hell with it.
@chipsnopotatoes: i think its just a metaphor. Its an arc between Sirens, Batman, and Red Robin. From the picture i would have to guess its most likely that she will have to choose between the Bat faimly and her new friends, or more narrowed down between Bruce and her life that she is used too.
Wonder what her look is going to be like in the movie: - long or short hair? i vote long - mask or goggles? i vote mask - leather or other? i vote other (i like the fabric they used in the Arkham City design) - cat ears or none? I vote none - whip or no whip? i don't care...

Anyway, I've been watching quite a bit of youtube clips and interviews of Ms. Hathaway. I'm really getting to like her more and more. She's got the warmth, vivacity and humor that I'd expect from Selina Kyle. I think it will be interesting to see how Nolan writes the character -- maybe he'll tone down the physical sexuality and amp up her engaging personality?
