Tries Too Hard to Imitate Batman: Year One; Still A Good Story
The second issue of Catwoman: Her Sister's Keeper isn't quite as good as the first. This time the art is sketchier, and Adrienne Roy's color choices continue to be... odd. Particularly bad is the Stan character who seems to look different every time we see him. The dialogue is kind of clunky at times - I think there's an attempt at 'street lingo' going on here that isn't working or something. Whatever the case, it makes the story seem a little rough in parts.
But this is still the gritty Catwoman: Year One that integrates so nicely into Batman: Year One, that it's hard not to like it even when it seems to be going a little off.
