    Origin

When Danny the Street evolved into Dannyworld, they started creating residents instead of luring misfits. This ability was taken advantage of by Vectra, a galactic corporation which was using Dannyworld for an endless supply of fast food ground meat. Dannyworld created Casey Brinke and sent her into the real world so that she could reassemble the lost Doom Patrol and stop Vectra.

    Creation

Casey debuted in Doom Patrol (2016) #1 by Gerard Way and Nick Derington for DC's Young Animal imprint.

In the Golden Age of Danny Comics, Casey Brinke was the Captain of St. Michael’s Children’s Hospital Jamboree Fighter Squadron. Her father got sick and became the super villain, Torminox, and her mother sacrificed herself by throwing herself into the sun to stop what her husband had become.

In the Silver Age of Danny Comics, she was Space Case, Captain of the 33rd Novafangs Starfighters Brigade, dreaded and feared across six galaxies. By day, she was a driver and caregiver at The Twilight Sun Intergalactic Home for Elderly Care. She had a noticeable scar on her chin and was missing part of her left leg, two attributes that suddenly became true after the Casey of the real world learned the truth.

It turned out that her father, Torminox, had also escaped Danny Comics and was running Vectra. He had his own evil version of Casey, named Doodle-Bug, by his side. With Robotman and Negative Man at her side, Casey is able to defeat Vectra and free Danny the Street.

Back on Earth, the Doom Patrol members were going through various side effects from their confrontation with the Vectra. For instance, Dannyland was starting to fall apart. Keeg, the alien that is the Negative Spirit, determined that Casey needs to return to Dannyland to stabilize their powers. She reluctantly agrees, but that means leaving her current roommate, Terry None. Terry was selling a new additive called S#!T, which altered reality for those that consume and turned out to be the daughter of long time Doom Patrol rival Mr. Nobody.

Casey rounded up the Doom Patrol to fight her and the new Brotherhood of Nada, but their fight was interrupted when Terry None suddenly became pregnant and went into labor with a child that was “fathered” by Casey. The birth caused everyone to be teleported to Retconn, a reality warping corporation that was tracking the Doom Patrol. They took Casey's child to send him into a hyper-reality, a universe they were actively re-designing. Casey and the Doom Patrol give chase.

They find themselves in a nightmarish sitcom world protected by the Community League of Rhode Island, a warped Justice League. The town was being manipulated by Retconn through their milk deliveries, thanks to Milkman Man, the Retconn branded superhero that Casey’s child grew up to be. Using her Hangman’s Daughter personality, Crazy Jane is able to wake the Justice League from their fictionalized existence. Because Milkman Man knows no other life, he was confused and embarrassed by the Justice League’s revelation and ran away.

Casey caught up with him at Retconn’s office building. It was a challenge to convince Milkman Man to stand down, having been so indoctrinated by Retconn, but Casey was able to get through to him as his biological parent. As the Doom Patrol and others make their way through Retconn, the people in charge see no other option but to burn it all down. In the aftermath, Milkman Man disappeared from both reality and their collective memories.
