After being scaried numerous times by Eustace, Courage reads a book on how to concur fear. Later an alien appears the doorstep and Courage flees in terror as does the alien. The alien then explains to Courage he was sent to Earth until he could learn to face his fears. Courage then gives him the book about facing fears and the alien leaves happily and thanks Courage.

After walking under a ladder Johnny feels bad luck might happen, but soon gets over it. Johnny then sees a woman with her heel stuck in a crack, he then lift her up when a black cat crosses their path and the two unfortunately fall in fresh cement.
