@ecstaticgrace: Please put context into your scans. When Carol "destroyed a world," there was heavy emphasis on a chain reaction of sorts that isn't really progressed on. She did, however, unleash so much energy that it caused the planet to explode.
Carol Danvers
Character » Carol Danvers appears in 4388 issues.
After encountering the Kree hero Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers was accidentally subjected to otherworldly radiation that transformed her into a superhuman warrior. Calling herself Ms. Marvel, she established herself as one of the most powerful and prominent heroes and respected member of the Avengers. She has now adopted the mantle of Captain Marvel for herself.
Carol Danvers aka Miss/Captain Marvel Composite Respect Thread.
@king_majestros: v2 series left that information out. It was either a retcon, or just wasn't mentioned. I'll post the original instance next to it though.
@ecstaticgrace: Sounds good.
From Spotlight on Starjammers #2.
Some stuff that's heavily ignored.
this list of scans is in chronological order, she said her durability was lower. Her energy output could of been as well
@ecstaticgrace: you should update this fam.
@thor321: Yeah I'm planning to, just doing some back reading atm, and I've been keeping myself busy on other stuff as well.
@ecstaticgrace: ok no rush
Nice thread. Hope Captain Marvel gets more respect from now on.
Are you gonna include her fight against Iron Man or is it too controversial?
@king_majestros: @thor321: @poeticwarrior:I plan on including a lot of stuff from CW II, I'm still back reading though atm, and looking for older feats.
Anyone is allowed to post stuff they think I should have a look at though, or think I should add to the thread. I tend to miss stuff at times, and the help would be appreciated.
@ecstaticgrace: Ignore the post I made, I missed you having add the 7th Sense thing already. Lol.
@king_majestros: I'm probably going to add the Cru healing as a category even though she lost it in the same run she got it.
@ecstaticgrace: cool.
still waiting for them.
@ecstaticgrace: still waiting :)
@thor321: You should look through it, I added some new stuff. And will do moreso.
If I'm missing anything, feel free to let me know.
@ecstaticgrace: thanks man.
@poeticwarrior: @king_majestros: @thor321: I don’t know if you guys still get on but I was thinking about updating Carol has been more impressive recently
@cruelrain,@kasya_carey I thought you guys might be interested
vs Firelord (He’s been able to match Thor consistently)

Goes Binary at will (Seems to vary though might of been the duress)

Vs Thor (Id argue a lot of the stuff above it justifies it but thats my stance on the matter)

Her most impressive fight so far though
@ecstaticgrace: Nice thread. Perhaps you should add the point were she absorbed/converted energy out of a black hole though, it is a pretty good feat of energy manipulation after all
@rac95: You remember what issue that happened in?
@ecstaticgrace: Captain Marvel (2012) Issue 16. She was Binary at that point and converted 81% of a singularity into energy
@rac95: Damn.. that’s pretty impressive. I don’t even know how I missed something like that.
Thats up there with Quasar saying she was absorbing anti-matter better than him and her forcing the Phoenix Force against its will.
@ecstaticgrace: Yeah, I'm still here.
@king_majestros: Glad to know that 🙂
@rac95: https://imgur.com/XZSRjAO
Makes the fighting the Alephs more impressive
Thought this was impressive from Carol’s original run
Ms Marvel vs Doomsday Man from Ms Marvel issue 4 1977
Doomsday man has “knocked out”/dazed Silver Surfer with his energy blast atleast long enough to grab someone
@ecstaticgrace: Also a few things worth adding from her current run Captain Marvel (2019).
In terms of durability, she took a prolonged beating from an angry She-Hulk who didn't knew she was fighting Carol.
And in terms of energy absorbtion, she absorbed two blasts of Tony's current Iron Man suit (and later also ripped it apart with ease, although it is unclear how boosted she was so I would take that part with a grain of salt)
And she also absorbed the electricity out of She-Hulks brain (!) and K.O.'s her
@rac95: appreciate the scans. Ill definitely be adding them. Hopefully Carol continues to be impressive
@poeticwarrior: @thor321:@rac95: @king_majestros:@truemoonchilde@mooty_pass@cruelrain
first image proves my point on Pre-Seperation from Cru Carol being weaker. Her Binary powers being lost effected her base stats. She was also unable to survive in space for long period something she can do now.
States Binary is far beyond her base stats.
It also suggest her powers are able to vary based on ambient energy around herself. That she most notable can absorb electromagnetic, radiation and sonics to amp her base stats this comic took place in 2007 before this
She wouldn't get her Binary status or become more powerful until Ms Marvel v2 #23 (March 2008). Where an Alien called Cru suggest that when they separate she'd become more stronger than before.
The second image suggest that Xorn can alter his size so it makes the feat of Binary flying through him pretty impressive. Cause it doesn’t state it’s an energy form but a gigantic form. Which implies at the very least his stats should be untouched if anything.
Xorn at regular size was trading blows with Sentry. So it’s a good feat for Binary
I also updated to include Binary knocking Thor out with an energy blast
Destroying the ruins of New Arctilan (an inhuman city on the moon) (That you could see when looking at the curvature of the moon)
and absorbing enough electicity out of Savage She-Hulk’s brain to go Binary as well as knock out Jen.
Notable Fights:
Uncanny X-Men 158: Storm, Wolverine and Night Crawler vs Rogue (With Ms Marvel powers)
@poeticwarrior: @thor321:@rac95: @king_majestros:@truemoonchilde@mooty_pass@cruelrain
Thought this was an impressive ability that needed some highlight
The ability to create a white hole (😅 I’m a little kid I laughed typing that)
Quasar issue 34 1992
Quasar states the vortex she creates is superior to his or “far more powerful”
X-Men unlimited issue 13 1998
Her struggling to maintain control of a white hole in her Binary form. The white hole was threatening the fabric of space
More modern showing of her accessing a white hole to try to forcefully absorb the Phoenix Force. Note accessing the white hole was suggested as dangerous to the fabric of reality as well as capable of destroying any new born universes on the other side.
Secret Avengers issue 28 2010
@ecstaticgrace: That is a Great Feat of her Binary Form.
However, in her Binary Form she is not as powerful as she used to be. In fact her Binary form has gotten very weak over the years. But I still love me Carol Danvers. She my second Favorite behind Storm. :-)
@mooty_pass: Yeah I think it might have been mentioned t she’s not as powerful as she originally was. But I think that’s just the fact she can’t maintain Binary indefinitely like she use to be able to. I don’t think Binary necessarily is weaker as a form just her ability to access is for long periods of time.
Honestly Binary and the whole white hole thing is so untouched upon that writers could honestly go any direction they want with it. Its never really been given an in depth explanation.
Regardless Storm and Carol are two badass heroines indeed.
@ecstaticgrace: I agree. However, I was reading one of the current runs of Avengers and Carol Danvers in her Binary Form was fighting Firelord to a stalemate. And she said that and i'm paraphrasing here. Flying next to a Star? or something accessed kick started her Binary. But you do make a point that I have not seen her stay in Binary for a longer period of time. It's always like 5-10min and she's done.
There's a lot of potential with that White Star. In fact she can become another Cosmic Hero and potentially be more powerful than the Heralds of Galactus...possibly.
Storm and Carol are very underrated. They really are. Not many people expect them to be or do anything great.
And if we are being honest(IMO) I think in Comic both Marvel/DC I think the Females heroes i'm listing below are very much underrated:
- Wonder Woman
- Storm
- Invisible Woman
- Mera
- Captain Marvel
- Wasp
- Spider-Woman
- Starfire
- Raven
- Spectrum
- Ms. America
- Killer Frost
@mooty_pass: She typically needs to absorb energy to stay in Binary for longer periods of time, the white hole gave her a constant source of energy to allow her to pretty much stay Binary indefinitely unless she exhausted herself
Thompson had her go Binary just from being under great duress. When she saw She Hulk free falling
@ecstaticgrace: That much I know. During the Ultimates Run she needed energy to go Binary and then used it up after she was done done 1 blast. So, I can agree to this fact.
And to add on to your example. Another, instance of her going Binary was from a less powerful explosion inside a ship and she absorbed it and went Binary.
Be careful arguing with Noone1996 he's very biased when it comes to Ironman like very biased.
@ecstaticgrace: You know looking at the Battle Thread of Ironman/Aquaman vs Cpt. Marvel/Storm.
Captain Marvel and Storm actually would make for a VERY GOOD Team-Up.......
@mooty_pass: What I meant was she went Binary under Thompson in issue 3 of the 2019 series without any energy absorption
Carol and Storm were/are pretty good friends when Carol was hanging out with the X-Men they seemed pretty close when Charles let Rogue into the X-Men, Carol left for obvious reasons but Storm also briefly resigned as well.
Im not big on Civil War 2 but Storm also picked Carol’s side in it as well
@ecstaticgrace: OH you mean that. Ok yeah I remember that.
Ambient Energy feat from 2006 Ms Marvel 37 “All the energy I absorb from the world around me”
Oneshotted Noh-Varr and Venom with her powers split
Avengers issue 27
Ms Marvel 2006 issue 40
Captain Marvel Iss 5
States she holds back a lot
Captain Marvel has a Healing Factor stated to be beyond that of Wolverine.
Thought we all should know. :-)
@mooty_pass: That was when she was connected to Cru. She’s no longer connected to Cru.
“I thought healing from anything was great, but Cru can have that power back”
The scans below is from 1998, kinda helps my point in ability to survive in space now being an amp. Given she was using energy reserves to survive as long as she did. But after her separation from Cru she didn’t have to rely on reserves
Captain America’s statement should outright confirm she was weaker during the time period though..
@ecstaticgrace: Oh ok
@ecstaticgrace: Spoilers for Star #4
Carol was quite impressive in this book lol
- She punches straight through Star's armour created by the Reality stone and even Tanks a blast from her
- Tanked a blast from Black Swan
- Treated both of Black dwarf and Black Swan like trash physically
@psi-bite234:
Stars Mini Series has been a bit underwhelming. This character doesn’t seem all that interesting.
@mooty_pass: Yes it's like Marvel doesn't know what to do with her lol
@psi-bite234: Yeah, I’m not sure what Marvel was trying to do with Star. Maybe Marvel was hoping to make another female character popular????
So I’m looking at Marvel’s August 2020 Solicitations.
And Captain Marvel takes on the role of Accuser. And it sounds like she is leaving her duties on Earth to be apart of the Kree/Skrull Empire.
How do you guys feel about Carol Danvers tanking the Mantle is Accuser???
@mooty_pass: @psi-bite234:Appreciate the scans I didn’t get a tag for some reason and I’ve been gone for awhile. Need some catching up to do.
Honestly I’m really excited about the whole Accuser thing hoping to get some really epic feats and a deeper connection to her Kree side and Hala out of this event.
In regards to Star I liked the first couple issues I need to catch up though
@ecstaticgrace: Great to have you back lol I will pm you some feats because I have literally gone through her whole reading order a few weeks back
Also I am pretty excited for Empire as well
