I've Lost Some Excitement Over This
The return of Carnage continues as we see how he/it got back to Earth as well as more bloody action.
The Good
Clayton Crain's art is really growing on me with this series. The tone should be dark and mysterious and that's what we get here. The first issue had obvious questions as we're slowly building up to finding out what the future will hold for Carnage. In this issue we find out how Carnage made his way back to Earth after Sentry took him out in space and tore him in half.Deep down I still hold some resentment towards Tony Stark for the way he treated Spider-Man in Civil War but we get some great interaction between the two here. This is what their team ups should be like. You don't get to see this relationship in the Avengers titles due to all the other characters mixed in. The story takes a slight turn towards the end and you know it's not going to mean good news for Spider-Man or Iron Man.
The Bad
The release schedule for this book really hampered my enjoyment for this issue. It might seem petty thing and something I should get over but I lost some of the excitement I had after reading the first issue. The guards Spider-Man and Iron Man had to battle also brought back a bad taste in my mouth as it reminded me the Five Symbiotes from Venom: Lethal Protector #4.There were some moments the combination of Crain's dark art and crazy action made events a little confusing. Most of the action happened towards the end and felt like it was crammed into the last few pages.
