It's All in the Pacing 0

The Good: Crain's art continues to suit the mood of this story perfectly, and the shadows are toned down a tad, making things a lot clearer. The dialogue is fantastic. Wells has a beautiful grasp of Spider-Man and it shows in spades. Now we come to the big thing that impressed me, was the pacing. It can be tough to write a superhero comic like a horror movie, but damn if that isn't what happened here, and it worked. There's a lot of back and forth between the 2 different sets of characters, and ...

I've Lost Some Excitement Over This 2

The return of Carnage continues as we see how he/it got back to Earth as well as more bloody action.  The Good Clayton Crain's art is really growing on me with this series. The tone should be dark and mysterious and that's what we get here. The first issue had obvious questions as we're slowly building up to finding out what the future will hold for Carnage. In this issue we find out how Carnage made his way back to Earth after Sentry took him out in space and tore him in half.  Deep down I stil...

Maximum Nostalgia 0

As someone who works in media, there is always one adage to live by when it comes to putting out a product. “Sex, humor, and violence sells.” Now, although this may be true, there is also another primal focus that can draw us into a product, even if devoid of those other aspects, especially from what I’ve seen of my generation. Carnage Issue 2 0

Man, bi-monthly books can really throw you off. Sure, there's the obvious issue of readers having to wait two months for a new issue. Then there are the extra problems, such as sustaining their attention well enough that they still want to come back after two months. Imagine having to write a story that after one issue, has to be remembered two months later. That's rough stuff. Given the just decent quality of Carnage issue 1, Carnage issue 2 has a lot of work ahead of itself to keep this...

This book frustrates me. And no. It's not because the writing's bad. And no, it's not because the art's bad. (They're both fantastic by the way). What frustrates me is that this book comes out ONCE every TWO MONTHS. And it's been 4 months so far and nothing has really happened. Hopefully when the whole mini-series is done this won't really matter and the whole thing will just read together great, but right now? Not so much. So Carnage; please get good. PLEASE. And could you do it soon? Thanks. 3...
