    Not a perfect start.

Carnage is one of the my favorite villains around. So when I heard about this mini series I was a little more than excited.  So Carnage #1 is finally here. Is it worth the wait? Is it worth your hard earned 3.99? Read on my friends to find out.

    Pros:
The writing is great. The introduction of Doppleganger at the beginning was great and I think Zeb Wells handled Spidey's dialogue quite well.

I also really dug the art. At first it seemed a bit odd and out of place but it certainly grew on me.

Also, the end really makes me want to read Carnage #2...

    Cons:
The end really makes me want to read Carnage #2... and i have to wait two whole months for it!!!

Nothing really happens in this issue and until the last few pages.

    Verdict:
All in all it's a great issue and a good start to the mini-series. While not a perfect issue I think it's well worth your 3.99. Especially if you're a Carnage or Spidey fan.

The returns of some of Spider-Man's villains we haven't seen in quite a while is also a high point. Throw in these villains with new characters Blue Blue and Firebrick and it has me wishing the next issue hit shelves next week. At first I thought Clayton Crain's (X-Force) art was an odd choice but he really does a great job of capturing the characters in this opening issue.   The Bad: It's price...

      Forcing the issue? 0

It's always difficult to give a decent review of the first issue in a mini-series because of the built-up expectations coupled with trying to envision how the rest of the series is going to go at the same time.  That being said, "Carnage" has had a tumultuous past even before the release of the first issue.  Originally titled "Spider-Man / Iron Man", the reintroduction of the Carnage character led to an entire series title change, possibly to its detriment.  It's obvious from the cover, as well ...
