Carl had only joined the Space Corps because women liked guys in uniform. Assigned in a post a million miles from Earth placed him far away from any woman. He was lonely and bitter against his superiors. When the Bimmu Raiders, an alien race, needed to infiltrate Earth's space territories to gather information, they needed to bribe a guard. Carl was bribed when they promised him marriage to the most Beautiful Girl in the Universe. He accepted and let the spies enter. A little later he met his bride-to-be, Athena, only to learn she was beautiful by Bimmu standards, not human ones.
