This Is The Best Time To Read This Series

A new story arc comes with a fresh chance to jump on board with writer Kelly Sue DeConnick, artist Filipe Andrade, and colorist Jordie Bellaire. There is something wrong with Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) and it will impact her powers.

    The Good

Carol Danvers is an interesting comic book character. She has had a very complicated past, yet she has become one of the most well-known Marvel Comic book women. With the release of Marvel Now came the chance to reinvent Carol Danver's character a bit. While Marvel Now is not a reboot, but just a new-found look on classic characters, I believe Kelly Sue DeConnick captures all Carol Danvers amazing qualities.

Kelly Sue DeConnick really captures all the great qualities that make Carol Danvers a successful comic book character. Carol has strong leadership qualities and is relatable. DeConnick does an amazing job on this series as she finds a balance between the action and light comedy all while keeping in mind the story. Kelly Sue DeConnick does not deviate from the story by adding pointless story elements and always keeps the readers in mind as she delivered a near flawless comic book.

The art style of Filipe Andrade is perfect for this series. Andrade has an interesting, yet, inviting art style that flows perfectly with DeConnick's writing. DeConnick's writing proves that a bunch of senseless violence is not always needed for a series' success. I believe that Filipe Andrade captures the ideals, and thoughts, of DeConnick in art form. The colors by Jordie Bellaire flows perfectly with Andrade's art style.

    The Bad

No complaints. With reading this series for the first time, I could not find one thing wrong with this issue.

    The Verdict

      Keep On Flying, Captain! 0

The Overview: I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't a huge fan of the last arc. That two issue arc was all filler, but not even good filler. After the powerful impact the first arc had on me, the lackluster chump mission of the last issue and the issue before that left me wondering whether or not Kelly Sue's Captain Marvel run had already reached its peak. With this issue, I'm pleased to say that Captain Marvel is back on track! In this issue we get a small glimpse into a day in the life of Ms...
