I'm not sure but I think Captain Atom is going by Monarch now. Or is he just wearing his suit?

I was just wondering about that after reading Countdown and adding a pic for Monarch. His page is blank. I know back in Armageddon it was supposed to be Hank Hall but they changed it. I think Dan DiDio may have mentioned before that it is Captain Atom but I haven't seen anything in the comics. Why can't characters just keep one name? I'm not a HUGE DC reader so I'll wait to see what others have to say.

Wait, I'm confused. I thought it was originally supposed to be Atom but they changed it to Hawk (Hank Hall) after the identity of Monarch leaked out?

I get it now. I stopped keeping up with the whole Monarch thing when they brought up Armageddon: Alien Agenda. I just didn't want to spend any more cash on it. I understand how Captain Atom is Monarch now.

During the Armagheddon story Monarch was suppose to be Captain Atom but it was leaked so they changed it to Hawk (of Hawk and Dove). Later he became the villian Extent and now Captain Atom is in the moarch armor after he traveled to the Wildstorm universe and came back with a leak. I don't know if he's just wearing the suit or IS Monarch.

Nah he actually is Monarch. I remember reading it in Wizard.

I have that issue but do they actually say he IS Monarch or just that he's wearing the suit? If you know what ish it was I can go look myself.

He became Monarch in 'Battle for Bludhaven'.

Which made no sense whatsoever. Since his return from Wildstorm, he's been more like his JLU counterpart. Leaking enerfy and what not, which has never been in his character before. Anyway in Countdown 44 He calls himself Monarch. He's Monarch. :\

During Kingdom Come #1 Captain Atom's suit is damaged and he explodes causing the Kansas incident.

Alex Ross didn't do his research, go to his solo series for the most accurate description of his biology. He is nothing like Major Force, who in hand, is made up of energy.

I'm not saying KC is a definitive model of the CA, just citing it as an example of CA 'losing' energy.

Shouldn't his picture be changed to the Monarch one since thats what he is currently wearing?

Monarch is awesome. He gave Superman Prime a Hell of a Fight.

Raises the question whether he's alive or not. It wouldn't be to bad if he died...as long as he isn't put through Countdown Arena again...:p
