    I don't really have any idea about how stories get decided upon in comics, but I imagine that at some point there is some editorial control, whereby the writer has to talk to his editor and pitch his idea. With that in mind, it must have been an interesting conversation when the pitch was "Captain Atom tries to save the life of a rat", but good that such a story got the go ahead, because this is one of the best written issues I have read in a long time.     I really don't like the cover for this issue. The 'split face' thing is a bit of a cliche, though I've seen it done AMAZINGLY right a few time, and this one just doesn't work. The attempted mesh is a little too awkward, the colors are too damn bright which makes it feel cheesy, and frankly it's just boring. Sure I understand the meaning, but that doesn't mean the effect is any stronger. It's Captain Atom and 'a monster.' There's not much of a deeper meaning other than, 'oh, this monster has the ...

    It's always sad to see a book you love not getting the recognition it deserves. At the time of this writing, the user reviews give this book an average rating of 2.8, which I can't understand at all. Captain Atom, to me, is a very well written, very interesting and very enjoyable book, which makes it all the worse that it's probably never going to be a strong seller, which is upsetting to me because these past 2 issues have just been great installments in a great story.Issue #6 is just superbly ...
