    History

Capcom was founded in Japan in 1983 as a videogame developer. Releasing several arcade and games on the Nintendo Entertainment System, such as the popular Mega Man series, Capcom would gain more popularity in 1987 with the release of Street Fighter. Street Fighter would create the fighting game genre and would become widely successful. Other popular series include the Bionic Commando, Ghosts n' Goblins, Strider, Captain Commando, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Darkstalkers.

Capcom also teamed up with Marvel Comics to create the extremely popular Marvel vs Capcom series. They have done the same with publishers such as SNK and Namco's Tekken characters.

Capcom has published a couple of comic books, but most of the comics with Capcom characters are published through Dreamwave, Devil's Due, UDON or other publishers.
