swampping's Caliban #1 - 1: The Ship review

    Absolutely stunning

You need to go pick this book up right now. Anyone who's ever read Garth Ennis can tell you that he has a knack for writing perhaps the most authentic characters in all of comicdom and this is no exception. The crew of the deep space mining vessel "Caliban" only appear for about twenty pages but they feel like real people, which is good because when the bodies start to pile up it's gonna hurt.

I wasn't familiar with Percio's art before this but I have to say he knocks it out of the park in this issue, The Caliban looks dirty, industrial and used (just like a corporate spaceship would be in real life) and it's a great contrast to the other thing they find in space (no spoilers!).

Even if you've never read Garth Ennis before PICK UP THIS ISSUE. It's comic horror at it's finest.

      Expecting more horror 0

When I started to read this I was hoping for some horror/terror story. Some thing like Event Horizon where the ship came from hell. I guess we have to hang out for another issue or two to see where we going with this. Maybe just another 4 pages would have helped....
