Caitlin Fairchild
Character » Caitlin Fairchild appears in 436 issues.
Fairchild was the unofficial leader of the popular Wildstorm super-team known as Gen¹³. The team's smartest and strongest member, she was also the half-sister of her teammate Freefall. Fairchild has recently been incorporated into the mainstream DC Universe.
Fairchild in the new DCnU? (Potential Spoiler)
Yup. Haven't picked up the issue yet to see what evidence there is, but rumor floating in from BC is that there was a leak of her ID, which I guess has just become accepted truth. The glasses match her first appearance which lends some credence.
Very interesting! I might have to pick this up now. I've always been kind of a borderline Gen13 fan but maybe this will be a good starting point to get my Caitlin fix.
Hope she joins up with the Titans
That'd be pretty cool too.

Potential Rose spoiler..
Nice! I'm adding it to my reading list.
First they let Voodoo and Grifter have their own books (without the WILDCats), the STORMWATCH returns with the Martian Manhunter....and now DC bring Catlin as a supporting character for SUPERBOY?! The reboot must have saved the entire WILDSTORM cast to pull of the new books...I'm curious if she'll be GEN-Active....let alone if GEN 13 exists....

Potential Rose spoiler..Rose is credited with appearing in Superboy #1.
Rose is DEFINITELY.
did anyone else get the feeling that they're hinting at a possible relationship between the two?
how awesome would it be to have Superboy and Caitlin together?!!

I think they're going to be drawn to each other and her psychic connection with him is somehow going to translate to her getting powers.

or maybe she gets injured and he has to give her a blood transfusion and she gets her powers from that
I do hope that they wait a year for her to get her powers. GROW her as a DC character and then expand on the personality. It also allows for other opportunity for the Gen13 kids to show up in the stories (background characters not named but just shown or shadow images).
IF they continue with the Gen Factor then her abilities need to be activated and that could be anything. I hope that NOWHERE is the new IO and they use them as the training ground for the next generation of heroes/villians. Perhaps others will show up such as DV8s?
I didn't read much Gen 13 back in the day. I knew about them though. When I got my first tattoo, I noticed that the artist--named "Lunchbox"--had Fairchild tattooed on his arm with the word "Lunchbox" written across her t-shirt. I got excited.
"Hey, Fairchild! You read Gen 13?"
"Huh?"
*points* "Your girl. She's from a comic book."
"Oh. No, not really, man. My buddy just picked a girl out of a magazine."
It was incredibly disappointing. He also didn't like Star Wars and I was there to get the Rebel Alliance starbird tattooed on my shoulder. His art was fine but his geek cred was quite disappointing. And that's my Fairchild story.
What a lame-ass tattoo guy.
After they butchered Starfire character, I don't want to see the same happening to Farchild. She deserves better than to be turned into walking fanservice.
