Finally returning from the future, Cable and Domino find themselves smack in then middle of an all-out war! What happened to cause such a savage conflict to flare up like this?
Cable and Domino land back in the present but not anywhere near where they expected. They are in Genosha, a country bent on reform in one way or another. The rebel forces are about to discover the island's secrets thanks to help from Mr. Sinister. Both the Sugar Man and the old magistrates plan to take out the rebels. Problem: Cable has joined them.
In Genosha, Phillip Moreau and Jennifer Ransome move quietly through the streets to meet up with a contact assisting them in a revolution. A curfew drone shows up and the two head into the sewers. They meet up with Essex, or Mr. Sinister, who tells them that they are close to discovering the darkest secrets of Genosha and that he must bow out before his part is discovered. He gives them one hint: Phillip's father may not have been the one to come up with the mutate bonding process.
Back from the future, Cable and Domino somehow land in Genosha. Cable immediately tries to understand their surroundings while Domion attempts to get him to open up about just meeting with his old self and once-dead wife. They are interrupted by a drone, which attacks them. Phillip and Jennifer show up and blow the drone up and invite Cable and Domino to join them in their resistance safehouse.
Elsewhere in Genosha, the Sugarman monitors the arrival of Cable and fears that it is Nate Grey.
At the magistrate headquarters, Punchout gets a notice of the location of some rebels. She invites the others to join her for a raiding party.
Phillip and Jennifer lead Cable and Domino underground to Safehaven, a refuge for the rebels. Domino sees the situation and instinct tells her to leave. Cable, on the other hand, is all-too-familiar with the situation and wonders why more isn't being done to stop the civil war. Domino and Cable begin a deeper conversation but pause to admire a similar conversation between Phillip and Jennifer. And then the Genoshan Magistrates attack.
