    Buz Sawyer was a pilot who started his career as a Navy fighter pilot in the Pacific during World War II then became a globe trotting troubleshooter for an oil company, a Navy ace again during the Korean war, once again a civilian adventurer and finally a Navy fighter again in Vietnam.


    Buz Sawyer was a newspaper comic strip created by Roy Crain, the creator of Wash Tubbs and Captain Easy, that ran from 1943 to 1989.

    As with all popular newspaper strips Buz also appeared in a comic books, mostly though reprints of the newspaper strips.
