Special thanks to K4tzm4n and Mercy for recommending this one to me. As the stars show I really enjoyed it. The Art: The art for this was is pretty great the colors tend to pop really well, movement is conveyed perfectly, and the character designs are really well done. Everything about the art comes together for me. The fight scenes(which make up most of the book) are the real highlight as that perfectly conveyed movement is used to convey some great fights with lots of nice quick jabs, blocks,...4 out of 4 found this review helpful.
A Bit Of A Let-Down :( 0
This was a comic book that I got for free when I purchased a graphic novel, I picked it out because the cover looked pretty cool, I wish that I would have chose something else :(Not that "Burn the Orphanage: Born To Lose #1" was a complete failure, I did enjoy the art work, and the first three pages did have a great set-up to what could have been an amazing story... but instead we follow "Rocky" (cliche name) as he punches and kicks his way through town trying to find out WHO BURNED DOWN HIS CHI...1 out of 2 found this review helpful.
Amazing Homage to Beat 'em Ups 0
I think some may have missed the point of this comic. It is meant to be a homage to the beat em up games of the 16 bit era (Streets of Rage , Double Dragon). The reason for the dialogue that was so off putting for one reviewer was to capture that essence, and in this readers opinion, they succeed and then some. An absolute joy to read for those that grew up with Final Fight and the like....1 out of 1 found this review helpful.
