    Buffy Year One

Ironically, it was near the end of the Dark Horse Buffy the Vampire Slayer series that the creators finally got around to doing a 'year one' story to bridge the gap between the original Buffy film/screenplay and the start of the TV series.

As such this is essential reading for fans who want to know the answers to such questions as 'What ever happened to Buffy's boyfriend Pike?' and 'Why did Buffy run away to Las Vegas?'

There are, however some down sides to reading this story arc in-continuity (between 'The Origin' and the first TV show), namely, the character of Dawn has already been retconned in (she wouldn't appear in the series until season 5!), and we get

    .

Still, it's a story that begged to be written, and if the first issue of the story arc is any indication, it seems like it will be a memorable contribution to the Buffy canon.
