Viva Las Buffy - Act 1: Broken Parts last edited by Anthony71100 on 11/01/19 04:23PM View full history

The Buffy monthly takes a bold new direction under the guidance of former X-Men writers Lobdell and Nicieza.

It's 1996, and Buffy Summers has just accepted her role as the Vampire Slayer. After the destruction of her high school, and her subsequent expulsion, she and Pike flee to Las Vegas as much to sort out her life as to follow a vampire lead. Meanwhile, the Watchers council tries to decide who to replace Merrick with. And, a strange and powerful vampire seems to also be taking an interest in the events in Las Vegas.

Narrated by Buffy's boyfriend Pike, this comic takes you where the TV show never did, back to the roots of everything, in the summer before Buffy arrived in Sunnydale. And there's a tall, dark, and handsome stranger keeping an eye on her during those dangerous nights in Vegas. The saga of the Slayer begins again with a new direction for Dark Horse's monthly series!

    Buffy Year One 0

Ironically, it was near the end of the Dark Horse Buffy the Vampire Slayer series that the creators finally got around to doing a 'year one' story to bridge the gap between the original Buffy film/screenplay and the start of the TV series.  As such this is essential reading for fans who want to know the answers to such questions as 'What ever happened to Buffy's boyfriend Pike?' and 'Why did Buffy run away to Las Vegas?'  There are, however some down sides to reading this story arc in-continuity...
