We open on Giles helping Buffy study for the SATs in a graveyard. Predictably a vampire shows up and Buffy has to slay it. Meanwhile, over at city hall, the mayor recruits Mr. Trick to help him keep a campaign promise.

After the opening credits the Scooby Gang goes to class where they find Principal Snyder waiting for them and handing out boxes of candy bars. He orders all the Sunnydale students sell candy to buy new uniforms for the marching band.

That night, Buffy lies to Giles and her mom to go visit Angel, and when Joyce and Giles find out she lied to them and even to Willow they're furious.

The next day Giles doesn't show to study hall and a substitute shows instead. During study hall Xander and Willow start to form a romantic connection.

That evening Oz's band, Dingoes Ate My Baby play The Bronze, and the place is overrun by partying adults including their teachers, Willow's doctor, and even Principal Snyder. Buffy and the gang leave The Bronze with Snyder tagging along in Buffy's mom's Jeep, but they're hit by a drag racing adult. Meanwhile Giles and Joyce walk through town like a couple of teenagers on a hot date. Giles breaking into stores, shoplifting, and assaulting a police officer, and Joyce eating it up like a smitten schoolgirl.

Buffy realizes that there are no vampires despite all the people out at night, then she realizes it must be something to do with the candy, so she makes Snyder take her to the supplier. There she and Giles discover that his old nemesis Ethan Rayne is behind things.

Willow and Oz find that the demon Lurconis is behind things and that he eats babies. That leads them to the final showdown in the sewer system.

Giles gets in Buffy's face"Band Candy" is definitely sub-par for the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The villains have one of the most convoluted plans ever, that breaks down something like this: they create a massive factory operation to manufacture a ton of chocolate bars that turn adults who eat it into teenagers (as if that automatically makes them irresponsible), supply them to the local high school and get Sunnydale High to use them as a fundraising strategy to buy new band uniforms, in the...
