    A HEART-STOPPING SEASON FINALE — Buffy wants to resign from her life of slaying when Giles uncovers an ancient prophesy that spells out her deadly fate, as the Master's ascension from the Hellmouth is at hand. As the earth begins to crack open, Xander, Willow and Cordelia face an army of demons and the prophetic end of the world. Meanwhile, Xander finally asks Buffy to the prom with equally disastrous consequences.

    A Good End to Season 1 0

    In a fairly fitting end to season 1, Buffy finally has a showdown with The Master. It's prophesized that she will die at his hands (ergo the title of the episode) and Buffy, in a moment of vulnerability blurts out "Giles, I'm sixteen years old. I don't want to die!"The first season of any show is like a warmup, usually half as long as a normal season. So it is with 'Buffy'.
