The Road Home Ends Strong
The Good: I love the idea of The White Casebook.
Ra's Al Ghul's inner monologue and the way it ties into the story is amazing. Every flashback he had was a great scene, and the way it was written was fantastic as well.
Scott McDaniel's art is awesome, and there's a lot of excellent action here.
Everything finally wraps into a conclusion. It feels very fitting.
The meaning of everything Bruce was doing is revealed. The way he phrases everything in his monologue at the end summarizes the entire idea of the story.
In the end, the greatest thing about Road Home is that it made the idea of Batman Inc. make sense. I'm absolutely amazed at how much I like the idea after reading this issue.
The Bad: I'm not sure how I feel about what Bruce did right before the end. It seemed a little out of character (which may or may not be the point) and I'm a bit wary about how it will effect Batman further down the line.
Seriously? You have a connecting cover image to span 8 issues and you come up with this? Each character in some fairly normal pose with a bunch of bats and some watercolor in the background? HUGE WASTE OF CONNECTING COVER IMAGE.
In Conclusion: 5/5
This was hands down, the best Road Home one-shot, imo. Ra's Al Ghul's subplot was really interesting, and was a huge look into his character that even drove the story along. Scott McDaniel draws some really awesome action, and the point of the whole 'Road Home' thing is finally revealed as a stage-setting moment for the future of the Batman Family. Even if you hate The Road Home, I'd recommend picking this one up, or at least giving it a quick readthrough.
