The Brown Shoe Company, manufacturers of shoes, also published comics during the 40’s and 50’s, these were not sold along with other comics but could only be found in shops that sold Buster Brown and Robin Hood brand shoes.
They published such titles as, logically enough, The Adventures of Robin, and an odd sounding comic set in the Wild West called Robin Hood’s Frontier Days.
Most of their comics however when under the name of Buster Brown Comics, a famous newspaper comic strip character of the first two decades who was bought out by them and turned into a shoe brand logo, but oddly enough never showed up in any of the comics which his name on the cover.
