Another One Turns To Dust 1

The Martian Manhunter's storyline concludes.in a less epic manner than Aquaman's but still in a  far more satisfying one than the Hawks' as J'onn J'onzz deals with his new nemesis and chooses his home.  DC has really screwed up the pacing of Martian Manhunter's storyline in this series. Five issues went by before this one without really touching on J'onn, and when we last did, it was that really poorly done dream sequence issue. So really, issue twelve was the last time we really had a satisfyin...

    Tying The Loose Ends 1

Brightest Day continues in the next installment of the series that is connecting the the entire DC Universe together- and it is an event that has already made major changes in the DC Universe.   WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD The Good  If you have been wondering whatever happened to Martian Manhunter and that crazy chick, D'Kay then you are in luck because this entire issue is dedicated to them. Well, almost the entire issue. The last few issues of Brightest Day have been streamlining the individual st...

    Future Regrets? 3

Yes, I am still reading Brightest Day, besides the fact it is taking forever for them to move all these stories along in a way that makes us understand with the big picture of the story really is. It's been forever since we've seen the Martian Manhunter, at least that's how I feel. So do we finally get some type of conclusion? Yes, we do.  I actually find the Martian Manhunter story to be one of the more interesting stories in the series, and I also find D'Kay as one of the most interesting vill...

    Brightest Day #21 2

The JLA, JSA, and Teen Titans arrive in Miami to aid the wounded and to discuss the actions of the White Lantern possessed Deadman. The Martian Manhunter's narrative concludes (or does it?) when he makes his decision between Earth and his home world of Mars.   The Good Absolutely love this cover by Fank and Eyring.   Gleason does a stellar job on the art this issue. I can say that I've enjoyed every panel of the Manhunter's tale he's penciled since this title began. Gleason delivers possibly his...

    The massacre continues. 0

Issue #21 of Brightest Day.  The Story: J'onn and D'kay are fighting, with D'Kay wanting to be with J'onn and he wants to do nothing with her.So J'onn takes her to the sun to kill her and choses Earth as his home and Deadman kills J'onn.  The Good: The fight between the 2 Martians was pretty cool and Gleason's art is really cool especially when the 2 become really bubblie and J'onn was really a badass when he was beating the crap out of her and using the minds of every single person of the planet...

It´s awesome when the creative team of a comic book knows so well a character that they make every move or line of him incredible and easy to read, so reliable, so interesting, and that´s exaclty what happened here with Johns/Tomasi and Gleason, because their grasp of the Martian Manhunter is definitely the best thing about this maxi series (and I would totally buy a comic book about this character with this creative team) - finally now J´onn is dealing with his unfinished business and both the ...

SummaryWith the Hawkgirl, Hawkman and Aquaman plotlines all reaching their conclusion, we only have Firestorm and Martian Manhunter’s resolutions left. This issue is the final chapter of the Martian Manhunter story. Will he defeat D’kay and make the right choices—even if it means losing hope of ever reviving Mars? Read it to find out! (Or read this run-through, you’ll get the gist). What I liked· And then he flies through a sun and then dies and then is reborn and then explodes: The last half of ...
