    Wait, why?

This issue was a complete train wreck story wise.  Hey Dead Man you are a conceited jerk and here's why.  What?  As I can remember from the little I know of Dead Man this hasn't exactly been a secret and the whole Carpe Dem Story line is a little tired.  Sorry, if you didn't see Dead Poet's Society you've at least seen Christmas Carol right?  I loved Batman here even if he is only in a few panels and some of the art, especially with Batman was incredible.  But geez, what was the point of this issue other than giving Batman some time in a time of the year when Batman is dominating all DC books.  Sorry. but I could have done without this pointless interlude and no offense to Geoff Johns who sounds like is going to kill in his new Detective Comics run; but what was this dreck.  I'm a little put off by Brightest Day after this, but I will probably hang in.  Considering how awesome the cover is though, I had high hopes for this one.

True meaning is revealed in this issue and more plots...

Deadman passes his ring along to Batman, being convinced that he's the chosen one - - but the ring itself might actually disagree.  The Good This was a surprisingly-good character study that delved into Deadman's regrets about his own selfishness without ever getting overwrought. Actually, Johns and Tomasi drew a very sharp line from that history to Brand's current shirking of responsibility vis a vis jumping to the conclusion that Batman's the chosen one. Being as frustrated by heroquest clich...
