Brightest Day new pattern of focusing only on one or two of its running plots per issue was bound to result in a weaker than normal issue that focused on one of its much less impressive plots. Here it is. This issue is almost entirely devoted to the ongoing story of Hawkman and Hawkgirl in Hawkworld.  The Hawk story in Brightest Day actually began very promising. Carter and Shiera's quest to hunt down and kill Hath-Set was compelling and made a lot of sense for the newly resurrected pair. But th...

Carter Birdman: Attorney At Martial Law 0

The Good: Finally, some new developments on the Hawkman/Girl story after so much neglect. It's far from my favorite story, but it's at least refreshing to see it again, and I know some people out there have been eagerly waiting for this. The cover is really glorious and closer inspection of the Star Sapphire symbol in the center reveals a really gorgeous artsy quality to the background. There was a lot of cool action, with Hawkman beating the ever loving crap out the hawks in Hawkworld, especiall...

    Brightest Day #13 - The jakob187 Review 0

As those reading this event know by this point, Brightest Day has been a hit-and-miss kind of series.  There are too many times where the story becomes too focused on one character that it somehow forgets about everything else that is going on.  Many have stated that if the series were released as a double-sized issue once a month, it would probably read better.  Brightest Day #13 definitely feels like it hits that sentiment over the head with a baseball bat, as the issue is weak for the ongoing...

    Lost in Love! 0

THE GOOD! What I liked about this issue is that we are moving towards big things. The Hawkman and Hawkgirl story was pretty cool. The best part of the story was definitely the ending, but we already knew it was coming so I don't really know how I feel about it. My favorite thing about Brightest Day is definitely the art. I have loved every issue's art and will continue to love it! The cover was awesome and the pennciling was awesome too! The characters are given such a great detail that I love. ...

Incredibly good issue and well focused! 0

Unlike much of the rest of the Brightest Day series so far this issue was completely focused on resolving the last bit of side story and bringing everything back together for the next issue.  This story is awesome, and I loved all the art.  If you've been following the series, you will love this issue.  The only thing I didn't like was the end. I was hoping for complete resolution but it didn't quite make it.  That's why it's only a 4 star. ...

SummaryAs Hawkman and the Lionmanes lay siege on Hath-Set and Queen Shrike’s tower, Hawkgirl has some personal time with her mother and she realises that her mother’s plans have been a long time in the making. What I liked· Hawkman!!! Arrrrggg!!!: This is, besides two pages at the end, a 100% Hawkman/ Hawkgirl story, and it is amazing. This could easily just be a Hawkman issue, there is very little mention of the White Lantern; this narrative is personal. You can really tell that Geoff Johns love...
