Brandine is the wife of Cletus Spuckler, also known as "Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel". The married couple are also said to be close blood relations. Various episodes have identified them as siblings, cousins, each other's parents or uncle/aunt to each other. She is illiterate and claustrophobic (has a fear for closed spaces, particularly elevators).
Brandine is mother to numerous children. One episode depicted 26 of her children, another 39 of them. She has claimed only two of them are actually the children of Cletus. She has held various jobs, among them one as a stripper and one as a soldier of the Iraq War. She had to return from a tour of duty to stop Cletus from exploiting their children.
