    Dumb set up.

    Issue 40 of Booster David.

The Story: Dr.Nishtikeit is still alive and is searching Boosters history in order to defeat him.Booster is fighting some one shot villain and when he comes back to Rip's lab and he says that he must pay for his crimes of stealing his equipment for his superhero identity.

The Good: It's really cool that Giffen and DeMatteis is using there other one off villain to make him more of a threat and hilarious since he is a mad Nazi scientist and the other one off villain is also funny. It's also nice that to have an issue showing Boosters backstory without making it boring. The art is nice.

The Bad: Couple of problems with Booster's backstory here,he didn't bet on his own football for his own fun but to help his mom who was in the hospital, also Skeets wasn't some old security droid but Booster's partner when he worked in the museum. Also I find it really stupid that Rip is only NOW taking Booster to the future to make him pay for his crimes. He saved the Time Stream from going in the crapper many times, like stopping the Teen Titans dying wich would let Trigon take over the world,if I were Rip I would think that he did enough good to pay for his crimes and suffered enough since his best friend died brutally by the hands of another one of his friends.

The Verdict: This issue delivers good laughs with good art but it does have some problems with the logic with there set up for the next issue. This is a buy if you want to.

The Beginning: The new villain is the return of one of those many loose threads created over the course of the past arc, which makes me happy to see come to fruition, and he's so utterly campy that it's clearly intentional, and his henchman even continuously calls him out on it. The credits are actually fun to read, as there's some good comedy mixed into it.We all know Booster Gold's origin, but rarely is it revisited in such detail, and it makes this a fantastic jumping on point for new readers...
