    Booster Gold's avoidant behavior finally reaches a breaking point as he's forced to face the certainty of Ted Kord's death. The Good Giffen and DeMatteis impressively find an emotional core to even the most convoluted of circumstances in this issue. As ludicrous as time travel gets in comics, there's an undeniable tragedy in the fact that BG can have all these impossible adventures and see his bigger-named colleagues get resurrected, but he simply can't have his friend back.Th...

    The Good: In the beginning, there's still that same great style of humor I've come to expect from Griffen/DeMatteis. We finally got to see what happens after Rani stole Goldstar's uniform. And there's some nice development for her all around. I think she makes a nice addition to this comic, as a plot device to build up Booster's morals a bit, and to be a kid and keep everything a bit more lively. After the roaring, crazy, laugh out loud insanity of the past few issues, everything finally comes c...

    Issue 39 of Booster Gold.  The Story: It seems that Rani has been trying out the Goldstar costume but can't use it well abd gets punished by Michelle then Booster goes on patrol in Ted's old hometwon and runs into a young robber wanting to become a superhero but Booster stops him.Then he goes to Ted's grave and mourns and back in Arizona and has a father/daughter moment with Rani.We also have a scene with some two guys talking about General Glory being dead and Booster still being active and wan...

    Booster Gold #39 - Letting Go! by sir_duke on December 15, 2010

     The Good   Rani continues to be a welcome addition to the book's cast.  Booster's adopted daughter he rescued from The Great Darkness Saga adds a new layer to the theme of responsibility and sacrifice that have been hallmarks of the book.  More importantly though, she makes the growing Carter family actually feel like a real family.  Furthermore, the art is quite nice to look at this is the shiniest I’ve ever seen Booster Gold’s costume.   The Bad   The writing.  Oh, I have to be more spec...
