    Origin

During Bombshell's first mission, she paired up with two other criminals named Oddball and the Silencer. Bombshell and the other two mercenaries were hired by a being named Crossfire to kidnap the Avenger Hawkeye. With a clever course of action, Bombshell disguised herself as a nun to get close to Hawkeye and his companion Mockingbird, she then used her explosive Gauntlets to unleash a powerful attack. Bombshell became the distraction as she fought Mockingbird while Oddball took care of Hawkeye. Even though the villains were less experienced, they were able to capture both heroes and take them to Crossfire's headquarters.

    Creation

Bombshell was created by Mark Gruenwald in 1983 and first appeared in Hawkeye # 3.

    The Death-Throws

Oddball became impressed with Bombshell's abilities and offered her to join a group of criminal jugglers called the Death Throws. Hawkeye and Mockingbird escaped from Crossfire's trap, destroyed his ultrasound machine and captured Crossfire. Oddball and Bombshell were defeated and would have been arrested too, but they were rescued by Tenpin, a member of the Death-Throws who was also Oddball's brother. Tenpin had been looking for his missing brother, and Oddball convinced him to back Bombshell's addition to the team. Death-Throw leader Ringleader welcomed Bombshell as the fifth member of the team. Crossfire contacted the Death-Throws from jail. He wanted the jugglers to release him, and agreed to pay them when he was freed. The Ringleader accepted the deal, and Bombshell and the other Death-Throws worked together to free Crossfire. However, once they had taken Crossfire to their own HQ, they discovered that Crossfire was broke! His assets had been impounded and he had lost any useful link with Cross Technologies. The Death-Throws decided to use Crossfire as a bait to attract Hawkeye and Captain America to a trap, but those two Avengers defeated all of the Death-Throws. Bombshell and her partners went to jail.

    The Femizons

Bombshell was then approached by Superia, a feminist zealot wanting to gather an all-women super-villain team: The Femizons. Bombshell became one of the several dozens of super-powered women who supported Superia's scheme to sterilize all the women in the world except for a few chosen ones, and then force the governments to accept their demands as the only way to ensure humanity's continuity. Along with the other Femizons, Bombshell traveled to Femizonia Island (South Atlantic) in the S.S. Superia. However, two Femizons had a long-lasting outgoing feud that led them to conflict during the trip. Snapdragon attacked Diamondback and injured her. Diamondback's allies Captain America and Paladin tracked her disappearance and boarded the S.S. Superia. A third Femizon, Ferocia, raised the alarm and Bombshell attacked Cap and Paladin, as a part of a 50-women army. Although they managed to defeat the males, Superia's scheme was a disaster when the protection of Femizonia Island was broken and Superia was forced to leave to stop her own sterilizing bombs. The Femizons were disbanded and each of them went her own path.

    The Hero Killers

Bombshell and several super-powered cronies like like the Beetle, Constrictor, Rhino, Blacklash, Discus, Speed Demon, Boomerang, Stiletto and Hydro-Man would work as one of Justin Hammer's operatives where they come into conflict with Spider-Man and the New Warriors when Speedball is kidnapped. The Sphinx worked with Justin Hammer where his operatives kidnapped various heroes including Auric and Silver. They were held captive at the Target Technologies complex in New Jersey where they analyzed the heroes' abilities for their own ends. Bombshell and the rest of Hammer's operatives would lure Spider-Man and the rest of the Warriors into a prearranged location where they are trapped by a special bubble shield. Bombshell appears to have eluded capture when the New Warriors break free and defeat the Sphinx.

    London Falling

Bombshell is back with the Death-Throws and Crossfire as they join a terrorist organization called RAID with other super criminals where they strategically strike numerous locations in London. They are defeated by Union Jack and Sabra.
