    Uryū utiliza una técnica prohibida para los Quincy, que supera las heridas que le infligio Mayuri. En este estado Uryū domina a Mayuri, pero este escapa transformado en una masa intangible. Uryū va hacia la ubicación de Rukia, pero en el tránsito es atacado por el capitán de la 9 division, Kaname Tōsen. Ichigo entrena su Bankai en repetidas ocasiones luchando por Zangetsu. Orihime, Uryū, Ganju y Chad son liberados por Kenpachi, que quiere que le guíen hacia Ichigo. Después de leer la última correspondencia de Aizen, Hinamori se escapa de la cárcel y va a donde Hitsugaya, Gin se dispone a luchar. Ella apunta su Zanpakutō a Hitsugaya y le acusa de matar a Aizen.
