Would you like him as one? Would you read an ongoing book? It doesn't have to be about the Avengers or X-men, I'm just saying like a regular title. For a character that had an amplitude of media exposure in the 90's- early 00's, in the Blade film that jump started Marvel's Cinematic Universe, there sure hasn't been much else done with the character.

Hell yeah I'd love to see Blade as an Avenger and in the absence of an ongoing book i wrote my own Blade stories. However I only want him to pop up in other books if they're going to use him as the beast that he is. no joke panels or irrelevant cameos. And if he popped up in another movie or got his own again (NO REBOOT!!!) I'd be all for it.

Brevroot wanted Blade on the Avengers a while back but I think Quesada said no.

He was in that vampire X-men arc, but it was pretty terrible all around I don't recommend picking up any parts of that X-men run

@dimmoe: Blade is more of an ANTI-HERO isn't he? I mean, he's only HALF vampire, but even so, he's got some issues with ruthlessness and sadistic tactics! So if he ever DID join the Avengers, it would be very awkward at best, and cause more than a few shouting matches at worst!

Blade is no more ruthless than Wolverine

Good point, If Wolverine and the Black Widow are allowed in, Blade can be too!

Well the rights reverted to Marvel so any new movies would have to be completely separate from the first 3 or else New Line could sue the hell out of them so a reboot is really the only way you'll ever see the character in a movie again.

So, someone resurrects a bunch of Purifiers, and a new X-Force team with a specialty for dealing with the undead is brought together.

(inb4 Marvel Zombies on the undead thing, btw)

@Oscuro: I know how you feel, also Blade pretty much saved the super hero movie genre after the disaster that was Batman and Robin and is in many ways responsible for the current trend that's pulling in a s**t ton of cash for Marvel. Basically the Blade movies are treated the way Marvel treats they're older fans, sure we got them to where they are now but nothing matters more to them than their shiny new movies and fans.

In the Unltimate Universe Blade had a rather fun ride with a group of would-be Ultimates taking on Ghost Rider. The Team also consisted of Nick Fury, Hawkeye, War Machine, and The Punisher. I know that people have different feelings about the Ulttimate Universe and it's different takes on classic characters but Blade fans might do well to check it out.

Like, have they ever/do they ever, fought/fight vampires?

if they drop deadpol or rulk from the thunderbolts , they can include blade .

Blade applied for a job at the jean Grey School of Higher Learning as teacher, he has shared adventures with the xmen on occassion.Blade is more or less a loner.

he'd be just as useful as all the other members who can't fly or shoot energy blasts or lift a skyscrapper

yeah. why wouldn't they be? He's got superhuman stats, martial arts training and weapons that can kill humans just as easily as they kill vampires. He tends to only real deal with vampires and the supernatural.

I mean what kind of weapons do you think he uses? He's got his sword, guns and his other little gadgets. And if anything he could probably kill a regular human just as easily with a stake as he could a vampire. Only real issue is Blade's motivations He pretty much sticks to vampires and the supernatural. When he was on Darkstalkers it worked cause he was dealing with Supernatural threats. So like Doctor Strange I'd only expect Blade to be around for supernatural scenarios.

Have you seen the Blade movies, or the anime? Or his appearances on Spider-Man TAS

If he does just tend to stick to supernatural threats, maybe he wouldn't be a lot of use being a full time Avenger. And if there are other characters with similar skills that aren't busy dealing with vampires and such, maybe they're better to be there, rather than taking Blade away from his specialist area. Maybe that's why it hasn't happened

I'm really confused with this line of questioning. We all know Blades skills and capabilities right?

He'd do the same things that Wolverine, Spider-Man, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye etc. do.

He was already on Captain Britain & MI13 I suggest you read that series.

His skills and abilities really shouldn't be in questioned he's already well established as a deadly combatant. It's his motivation to join the Avengers that would be questionable.

no need to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong.

He's a vampire hunter. So like most vampire hunters he generally fights vampires lol. But once in a while he has also tangled with other supernatural creatures(were wolf, demon etc.). The rare godlike/extra dimensional being (I can think of at least 4 instances off the top of my head). But for most showing its just vampires, which isn't a bad thing. A good writer can make vampires as diverse and creatie as any other villains, with different looks, powers etc.

Really vampires are his thing though.

He's gone up against Spider-Man a handful of times. And he can generally hold his own. In the last Blade series he actually took Spidey down when he was turned into a vampire and helped him return to normal. but normally they work together like when they were going after Morbius.

I mean you look at his skills. He is a martial arts expert, master of several mele weapons and firearms. Has enhanced, speed and strength and a healing factor.

A lot of the vampires he takes down are weaker or on the same level physically as he is. But once in a while he encounters a stronger opponent that he almost always finds away to beat. Dracula, Deacon Frost etc. Marvel just hasn't really used him that much in the last 2 or 3 years comic wise.

Blade has the following

Super Strength

Super speed

Enhanced agility

Marksmanship

Accelerated Healing

Hawkeye is a constant member as well as Falcon both are pretty insignificant in a fight against Thanos. Simply becuase he fights vampires dosn't mean he can only fight vampires. Also Morbius: The Living Vampire #2 is an ongoing series -_-

Maybe Blade will show up in that book
