Deacon Frost has taken over New Orleans’ Mafia…and Marie Laveau is his wing woman in evil! Dracula’s reign as Lord of Vampires takes a dangerous turn- one that involves the capture of Blade, Hannibal King, and Brother Voodoo!

Blade sits in his New York home, contemplating his status as last surviving member of Quincy Harker's vampire hunters. He also ponders a recent spate of killings, the victims being underground criminal figures. His current activity slaying the undead brings a trio of bloodsuckers to invade his abode. Blade kills two of them, then tortures the third till he extracts the name of the mastermind behind the mob murders: Deacon Frost, who has taken over a crime family in New Orleans. Blade finishes off the vampire, then packs and leaves for Louisiana.

In New Orleans, as he searches for Frost, Blade recalls his previous encounters with the vampire, especially the death of his mother at Frost's hands, occurring at the time of his birth. A meeting with Brother Voodoo at a night club proves fruitless beyond being informed that Marie Laveau, the Voodoo Queen, is active again. On the street, Blade is attacked by, then dispatches, three vampires, as Hannibal King makes his presence known. King tells Blade he survived the explosion that appeared to have destroyed him and that he's been hired by Safron Caulder, Blade's former lover, to trail Frost. The vampire has been making moves to take over Donna Garth's coffee manufacturing company, where Safron works. The next day, Blade visits Safron and Donna to ask what they know. He learns that Frost's takeover of one criminal organization has ignited a mob war.

That evening, Laveau performs a ritual to create zuvembies, but is interrupted by Brother Voodoo. However, the Voodoo Queen has recently allied herself with Frost's vampires and several of the creatures attack and subdue him.

Elsewhere, Blade and King case the streets where they witness vampires killing rival mob enforcers. The gunmen proved to be bait, as human gangsters come out of hiding to attack the bloodsuckers, but then more vampires join the fray which erupts into a gruesome battle. Waiting till the chaos subsides, Blade and King follow some surviving vampires to their hideout, an old paddleboat. As the pair try to board, they are ambushed and captured.

Soon, they are nailed to a wall by their hands beside the similarly incapacitated Brother Voodoo, King enmeshed in a net laced with garlic. Deacon Frost presides over the scene, boasting of his plan to become the new lord of vampires, a plan which is proceeding apace as he takes over gangs and big businesses. He claims that, as the city's crime boss, New Orleans is under his control, and soon other cities will fall to him in the same way. He then leaves to make his final play against Donna Garth and her company.

Blade manages to move his pinned hand enough to extract a knife from his sleeve, passing it to King, who painstakingly cuts through his net. Now able to transform to mist, King frees his allies, and Brother Voodoo faces off against Laveau. Invoking Damballah's aid, he defeats the priestess, but the resultant mystic energies cause an explosion which kills the remaining vampires as trio jump overboard.

At Garth Manor, Donna and Safron are threatened by Frost, who demands Donna sign her company over to him. Soon, Blade and King arrive, and while the detective deals with the vampire guards outside, Blade bursts in to face Frost. The fight goes badly for Blade at first, as the vampire throws him around like a rag doll. But when Donna and Safron distract Frost, Blade flings a wooden knife into his throat, then hacks off one of his arms. Frost leaps out a window and vanishes.

The next morning, Blade and King discuss their next moves; King is being retained by Donna who wants him to find the missing Zombie that was once her father, and Blade says he's decided to take up residence in New Orleans to continue his campaign against Frost.
