A former KGB agent, Natasha Alianovna Romanova, better known as Natasha Romanoff or Black Widow, was trained by the top-secret Soviet brainwashing and training program, the Red Room, to become the ultimate "Super-Spy". She defected from the Soviet Union to the US to join S.H.I.E.L.D. Subsequently, Black Widow proceeded to become a member of the Avengers and has been on the team on numerous occasions. She's a woman with an enigmatic past which very few are acquainted with.
We've seen the talk that Eliza Dushku would like to play Black Widow in "Iron Man 2." Her plea on the Howard Stern show might've come too late. The latest is Scarlett Johansson is in talks with Marvel to play the role. The Hollywood Insider at EW is claiming the exclusive. Emily Blunt was originally in talks for the role but due to a commitment with FOX, she is kind of forced to be in "Gulliver's Travels." She would like to try to swing both but it may not be possible. Because of this, Marvel is talking to other actresses and Scarlett is apparently the most prominent one. Scarlett is also supposedly interested. Marvel won't confirm this but it seems Hollywood sources are saying this is the case.
Is she right for the role?
I do like Scarlett. Part of me says who cares if she's right for the role. It'd be an excuse to see her on screen. Thinking about it, I think she could probably pull it off. She can do the femme fatale role. She is a good actress as well. Things are starting to get interesting. How rad is it that all these big name actors and actess are fighting over playing comic book characters?
What do you think? Some voiced their opinion over Eliza Dushku. Some seemed to prefer Emily Blunt. Does Scarlett trump Blunt? Would Sam Jackson be upset if she was in it and he wasn't (since they co-starred in "The Spirit")?
1.She has a babyface..she looks far to young to be Black Widow.Natasha is a mature female.

I guess you assume because I am male that I actually give a crap about boobs...but that couldn't be further from the truth.My personal preference in women has nothing to do with why I think Eliza Dushku shouldn't be Black Widow.She's 28 and she looks 18.We're casting for Black Widow not X-23.

Well if it was a thread asking opinions on someone's appearances...I do generally make fun of grown women for being flat chested.I'm not a stickler on big boobs but they at least have to be there.

That's where a competent director could come in. Ya gotta tell them how the scene should be laid out. If they can't do it, they should let them know. More importantly, whoever's in charge of acting should make sure they can pull it off.

She is a great actress. But you can't tell how these things will play out.
The director just needs to be a hardass and tell the what's what. When a movie fails, it ultimately falls on them. Look at X3. Who's to blame, Brett Ratner or the writers? Everyone blames Ratner. He may have been part of the blame but he didn't write it.

I felt like directors or writers for that matter didn't take these sort of movies (based on comics) seriously before.It seems like it took until maybe the last 3 years for people to wake up and really try and make something out of franchises like Iron Man.

That is a good point. Most of the time these movies have been too campy for my taste. It is why I never liked the original Star Trek.

I hate when Hollywood takes a license and makes a total mockery of it.When I saw DOA...I almost stopped watching movies entirely.DOA was worst than the original Street Fighter Movie,House of The Dead,and X3 combined.
