Am I the only person who's gradually getting a little bit, uhm, angry?  Has anyone read issue #38?  Does anyone else feel my frustration?

Uhm, yeah.  To a degree, I agree with you.  But although the ground for a story might be good, the dialogue has a tendency to make me go "WTF?".

Also, one of the the things he (Killmonger) uses to persuade the Nigandans is, not more talk about their freedom, independence, and no more starvation.  But a f*ckin FLAT SCREEN!!!  Oh, and power to run it.  Sometime after he makes this stupid promise, this old woman, who was threatened with death and also saved by Wakandan militants asked them this question: "You're not going to hurt that nice Mr. Killmonger, are you?  He promised me a flat screen tv!"  I just can't believe that an old woman, who grew up in NIGANDA, would be more concerned about having a FLAT SCREEN.  I'm like "B!tch are you hungry?  Or do you wanna watch tv?".

Oh, did I mention that Mr. Hudlin even attempted to make a  potential RAPE scene funny?  It's like he can't find a balance.  He goes from writing what could be a serious situation, to forcing BET style humor down people's throats.  I can't express enough just how bad this man's "Mood Breakers" are.

Potential rapist #1: "Just the way I like it.  Nice bottom girl."  I sorta vomited a bit.  However, I think Hudlin's attempt was to get an "Oh no!" feel or somethin.  Or maybe not, since it was T'Challa's sister.  But whatever.

Potential rapist #2: "You don't know anything about women Jamir!  She needs a weave!" W...T...F...???!!!

Was it needed?  No.  Did it have a place?  No.  Was it funny?....Hell No.  Again, maybe it's because it was T'Challa's sister, he felt perfectly fine adding a terrible joke in there.  But seriously, she needs a weave?  And just a sec.  I'm gonna get #38 and give yet another stupid quote.  I'm just tired of the forced comedy crap.  It needs to end.  And soon.  Luckily Hudlin will not be writing Secret Invasion.  So there's hope for a fairly serious tone to the storyline.  Again, I don't really hate Hudlin's writing.  I just hate that he keeps trying to be funny.

Not really about Hudlin, I just don't like starting new threads.

Anyway, issue 39 was good. I know it was a tie-in, but I think Jason Aaron did well. Felt like the first BP story in this series. No other heroes, no annoying wife, no racism and a good start to his story. BP was smart and showed it against a capable enemy that was written so he had his own character. Nice ending too.

I SERIOUSLY agree with you Bucky, except for the annoying wife part. lol Storm was out fighting (hand to hand) other Skrulls along with her fellow Wakandan warriors (In Panther-esque gear.  Yay!).  The author also (from the dialogue) has some plans on using her a bit more in the next issues.  I actually liked the way Storm was in that issue.  It was VERY short, but she still felt like Storm.  And Panther was respectful, smart, and powerful, all with no stupid humor added in.  Honestly, I feel Hudlin could take notes.

I didn't say Storm wasn't in there. I said annoying Storm wasn't there. The Storm in 39 didn't bother me like she has in almost all her other appearances in Black Panther. We can't forget that this is Black Panther's book, not "Black Panther and Storm". I'm not saying she should be totally absent or be relegated to a minor role, they're married (no matter how much I dislike that) so she should be there, but before this issue she had been one of the things getting in the way of me enjoying BP.

Oh, sorry for the misudnerstanding.  Here's the deal, Black Panther SHOULD NOT have been given to the bastard who's president of Black Entertainment Television.  Storm is mature, smart, and powerful.  Priest understood this.  Storm and Black Panther SHOULD be skilled enough to work together in a mature manner.  Scratch that, they WERE skilled enough to work together in a mature manner, but Hudlin got the book.  What fool in his right mind, when battling Doom, is gonna yell at his wife for knocking him on his A$$!  I mean seriously.  And no matter how hard I try, I just can't understand why Hudlin is making it seem like Storm is "developing" her Queen skills.  She has plenty of leadership history.  She should know how to handle certain things.  Black Panther went from appreciating (in Priest's run) Storm's powers and skills, to having (In Hudlin's run) an ego/power struggle with her. These characters SHOULD be a great blend.  But Hudlin doesn't get them.  More proof of this is Hudlin's dialogue for Storm, AFTER Hercules messed up Clor.  She's less mature, less wise, and sadly, less regal.

He can't for me.  Storm's there.  As well as my hope that his run on the series will come to an end before 2011.  Curious, did you notice that he is THE ONLY person who does not write them in a respectful, mature manner?  But, again, the President of Black Entertainment Television should NOT have been given this series.  He  may be "SMART", but the ignorance within his writing sorta makes me think that he's a man who's desperate to prove himself in the comic world.

i think he's trying to make them more accessible to the common man or some other stupid thing.  bp's a king and he's been brought up as royalty all his life.  he should know the proper way to treat his wife.  storm was treated like a goddess most of her life, and was mature when she was a little girl so his take on both of them just doesnt make any sense to me.

I agree with you 100%. it seems that Hudlin thinks that BP is a black king so he should automatically associate with other black characters which is ignorant. BP is wakandan and that's it. BP will choose a wakandan over another black person any day regardless of the skin  of the wakandan. I just wish that Hudlin didn't erase BP's step brother the white wolf. He was proof that even though he wasn't originally wakandan and he wasn't black that BP still regarded him as a brother with a serous sibling rivalry. Hudlin doesnt understand that BP isnt African-American, but wakandan. He's not even a super hero because he only does what's best for wakands so if blowing up a hospital full of children will help or save wakanda BP wont hesitate to do it so i don't understand what he's doing making trips around the world. also when his headquarters in America got blown up, any sane diplomat would of travelled back to their own country until the situation for them to return was needed. and also it seem that Hudlin forgets that BP has super hearing and super sight because of certain actions BP takes. Hudlin doesn't understand BP as an indevidual and that evidant when he took the action for him to get married then act as if his wife is his employee. Something makes me think that Storm would never let BP push her around and I can tell that BP would never get angry like that ever. As royalty he should of been taught discipline when he was still a child.

and where does Hudlin get the nerve to sever any connection between BP and his god? In the past both his original and Priests runs had shown a real connection to BP's beliefs but Hudlin doesn't see it. Even Moonknight sticks to his beliefs, but is BP meant to be too good for it or something. it has also been established that BP's God is Bastet, the ancient Egyptian goddess and she is an actual character in the marvel universe so why isnt she featured in any of BP's story arcs? I think that even though BP is married to Storm he should go on more individual missions because she obviously still has her own responsibilities and BP can do without getting her into situations that she doesn't need to be in.

I think that even though BP is married to Storm he should go on more individual missions because she obviously still has her own responsibilities and BP can do without getting her into situations that she doesn't need to be in."
Agreed.  Matter of fact, not only does Black Panther dislike magic now, but Storm isn't nearly as spiritual as she normally is.

The current story (Secret Invasion Tie-In) continues to be the best BP arc of this series.

Storm annoys the hell out of me in Black Panther. I loved the beginning of the seres like I loved the first arc after that it was eh to me. Then Secret Invasion began and it's awesome again.

"I agree with you 100%. it seems that Hudlin thinks that BP is a black king so he should automatically associate with other black characters which is ignorant. Question: Would Black Panther be like the Sub-Mariner of Wakanda (basically like their roles) just wondering plus I'm asking because idk much about BP & i am learning about him more & more each day & as of right now i know only about his powers & equipmet & some of his history.
