DC Comics/Milestone
Juneteenth DC styleSince the tragic death of George Floyd, comic books have started to reflect the struggle of police brutality against African-Americans. DC Comics released a mural of its Black superheroes to celebrate Juneteenth.
Then it was announced that Milestone would officially return as Earth-M on February 26th 2021. An online sampler, Milestone Returns Zero, was released online for free at DC Fandome on September 12th 2020. The printed release date occurs on May 26th 2021 as Milestone Returns: Infinite Edition. It is revealed that Static's origin story was retcon. Instead of participating in the Big Bang gang war on Paris Island, Virgil Hawkins was participating in a Black Lives Matter protest in Dakota, where the police released experimental tear gas on the protesters and created Bang Babies.
